zoyres news
November 2007. We've just gone into the studio to record some more music, and it's sounding really good! We hope to have another CD finished up within the next couple months.
June 2007. Mike Perlmutter has returned to the west coast and will be rejoining the ranks. We're excited to have him back - we're working on some new tunes and new arrangements, and are hoping to record this summer so keep an ear out!
August 2006. OK, so it turns out the previous announcement about CDs was not quite true...as we just ended up receiving them this last week. But now they're available, both at shows at via mail order - stop by or send an email to pick one up!
July 2006. We'll finally have CDs available this week - a little late, we know. Sorry. Please email us (zoyres@gmail.com) or come to a show to pick one up. They sound great!
On a sad note, Mike will be picking up and heading off to pursue graduate studies on the east coast for a year. We'll be playing our last shows with him this month, so come out and get a taste of his (in)famous sauerkraut while you still can.
On a happier note, it looks like our old tuba player Josh will be rejoining the ranks soon - great to have him back!
March 2006. We've started playing with Jon Russell, a great clarinetist and bass clarinetist. We'll be playing our first shows with him in April.
We're getting closer to finishing our CD - we should have them in time for our performances in May.
February 5 2006. We went in and mixed our recent recordings this weekend, so we'll hopefully be able to get a CD together soon. They're coming out sounding pretty nice, so we're all excited about that.
January 2006. We've been playing with lots of different people to try and round out the group instrumentation-wise again. Look for us to be performing again within the next few weeks.
December 2005. We recorded a variety of material - traditional tunes, original compositions, improvisations - at New Improved Recording in Oakland with Eli Crews and John Finkbeiner. We'll be putting this all onto a CD sometime soon. Also, our clarinetist Olivier Hamant has left us to go back to France. We're sad to see him go...this was the last recording we did with him.
